Spenser Confidential

When I first saw the trailer for "Spenser Confidential" I was very excited because as a Bostonian, I love Mark Wahlberg. The movie is loosely based on an old TV Series called "Spenser for Hire" from the 1980's, but in my opinion, it doesn’t do anything to further the quality and legend of that short-lived TV show. Mark Wahlberg is always easy to watch in any kind of genre film but even he can’t stop this movie from lacking anything worth holding your attention. This movie is best watched on an IPad with your phone in the other hand to keep you distracted. That way you can enjoy a few of the capers going on while still being distracted enough to not realize how awful the movie is. It appears they are going to make a series of these movies based on the ending of the film. If a little violence, some comedy, Mark Wahlberg (with a little Post Malone), and a plot that you don’t have to completely pay attention to is interesting enough to lure you in, give this movie a watch. However, if you are looking for a movie comparable to "The Irishman," do yourself a favor and skip this one.
