Netflix has definitely stepped up their game with the release of many Netflix Originals that has the whole world talking. Here are a few that are definitely worth taking a look at.

1. Tiger King

Tiger King is #1 in the U.S. on Netflix right now. If you haven’t watched it yet, you have certainly seen the memes and heard the stories. If you’ve neglected to watch it because the preview doesn’t look like something you’re interested in, think again. This documentary that is sweeping the nation gives you a behind the scenes look at the tiger world. When Rick Kirkham set out to create “Tiger King,” it turned into something very different. The documentary was supposed to bring light to the mistreatment of “Big Cats.” However, the story quickly spiralled into “murder, mayhem and madness.” The documentary follows the life of a gun toting, millet sporting, homosexual, Oklahoma man that goes by Joe Exotic (a.k.a Tiger King). He owns a large zoo in Oklahoma where he breeds baby tigers. To make the story even more interesting, it shows his rivalry with Carol Baskin, owner of “Big Cat Rescue” and how the Tiger world quickly turned to madness.

2. The Circle

The Circle is a mix between a reality and a game show. Essentially, contestants enter a hotel room where they will communicate only through social media with other contestants. At first it's really weird to watch people talk to a TV monitor, but you get use to it. The point of the show is to get everyone to like you so that you make it to the finale and have a chance at winning a cash prize. The contestants get to choose whether they enter the circle as themselves or a “cat-fish,” and the show explores the reality of social media and how people might not be who you think they are. This is a great binge watch if you’re bored and need to be entertained. It’s definitely different from other shows I watched, but very entertaining.

3. Love Is Blind

Love is Blind is a reality show that seeks to discover if love is truly blind. For the first part of the show, contestants essentially go on “blind dates,” except the term means something different here. You actually never get to see the person you are talking to. Contestants go on dates through a wall, where they can talk and develop connections without ever seeing the person they are talking to. Here’s the catch, the only way they can meet that person is if they decide to get MARRIED. I’m pretty surprised at the success of this show, a bunch of them get engaged at the end of the first part and get to see their true love for the first time. After that, couples get to go on a honeymoon and then they have to face reality and move in together. By the end of the show, it is their wedding day, and they’re faced with the scary fact of saying “I Do.” Will they prove love is really blind? Or will they choke at the altar? The show is definitely out there, for sure, even a little foolish, but if you can get past that, it will 100% keep you entertained.

4. Ozark

This Netflix Original drama follows the Byrde Family as Marty (Jason Bateman), a financial planner from Chicago, gets into the wrong industry and is forced to launder money for a Mexican Drug Cartel. The family moves down to the Missouri Ozarks to start a new life and try to navigate through dangerous circumstances. Marty and his wife Wendy (Laura Linney) are forced to fight to keep themselves and their family safe while paying off a substantial debt to their bosses. This show will have you binge-watching all day.

5. You

You is about a New York bookstore manager and serial killer who falls in love with a customer, naled Guienevere Beck, and quickly develops an unhealthy, creepy obsession with her. This is essentially my worst nightmare. Beck doesn’t realize the creepy side of him and finds herself in many bad situations. This show might leave you feeling unsettled, but it’ll definitely have you sitting on the edge of your seat. Plus, who doesn't love Pen Badgley as a creepy stalker after watching Gossip Girl?
